Surveys can be used for all sorts of things in education. For example to gather knowledge and understanding of a topic subject prior to teaching, as an evaluation, to gather statistics or to collect opinions and preferences. Probably the best know web survey tool is Survey Monkey. However, this is not the only one and you may prefer to use one of the others available. Each of the tools listed comes as a free version and premium paid for version. There are limits to what you can do with the free versions, but, they are more than adequate for classroom use. Each has its strengths and weaknesses and some are easier to use than others. Wufoo , Survey Gizmo and Survey Monkey are probably the easiest to use.
