Over 250 pupils get biking

Over 250 students attended the Discover Biking Sessions run over 8 days. The activities took place at various locations within Midlothian – including Loanhead Park, Penicuik Park and school grounds. The P6 & P7 students came from 8 Schools.

Primary Schools Discover Orienteering

Throughout the winter months, Midlothian Council Outdoor Learning team have run a suite of Discover Orienteering courses for Primary 5 and 6 pupils. With 15 primary schools involved from across the region, a total of 743 pupils have had the opportunity to experience orienteering, learning new and transferable skills.

Midlothian Pupils Win UK Robotics Award

Two Midlothian primary schools – Loanhead and St David’s – traveled to the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham this week to take part in the VEX Robotics UK Challenge. Children worked together to design and build a robot, solve problems, write code and compete with other teams across the UK. St David’s achieved one of the highest scores of any UK primary school and Loanhead won the ‘Think’ award for Programming. Click on the image to find out more.
