Rosewell Primary School House Captains would like to thank everyone who voted for them in the recent Poppyscotland competition. We are delighted to say that Yasmin, Ailsa, Eva and Aimee won the Most Innovative Fundraising Idea by creating a campaign to sell poppy seed packets to residents in the local area. They were interviewed by the judging panel and said “our idea to sell and have locals plant poppy seeds in their gardens was a way of remembering the men and women who fought and died for us”.
The House Captains were presented with their award and prizes at a virtual prize giving event last Friday . As their entry also received the highest number of votes, they won two fantastic prizes: a £500 Amazon gift card and a day of work experience with Poppyscotland. On top of this the whole class received Poppyscotland goodie bags and a framed winners’ certificate.
The House Captains will also be representing the whole school on Friday 18 June as they lay a wreath of poppies, along with many others across the country, to mark a 100 years of the Poppy campaign.
