We are delighted to announce that Midlothian’s Mi Space project won the award for the best Pupil Experience at the Education Buildings Scotland Conference last night. Karen Hinton and Lynsey Binnie accepted the award on behalf of Midlothian, they presented at the conference today with a group of pupils from Lasswade PS and formerly of Loanhead PS. Mr Swinney also met with the Midlothian group this morning. The Mi Space project enabled 28 primary classes to take part in a highly innovative educational experience involving 800 pupils and a range of partner organisations. Empowering children in the design of their learning spaces took teachers and learners into new territory and highlighted important new messages for schools. In their presentations pupils relate their experience of the project, the research they undertook, the changes they decided to make to their classrooms, and the outcomes for them.
